WSOP The World Series of Poker is usually a showcase for some some of the top
professional players in the game This year however it has been the less-known
players that have dominated the tournament early Outside of Phil Ivey it has
been a slow start for well known players That changed when Jeffrey Lisandro beat
out a table that featured another top pro John Juanda in the World Championship
Seven Card Stud event Lisandro took home $124,975 for the win and more
importantly won a coveted bracelet Rodney Pardey finished second and won $77,229
Juanda ended the tournament in fifth place winning $25,633 The tournament had
359 players In other tournament news Brian Lemke won the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em
tournament and he won a hefty $692,658 for his efforts Fabian Quoss finished in
second and Thomas Keller was third Just completed also was the first Women’s
tournament of the year Lisa Hamilton won the event which featured one of the
quickest final tables of this year’s WSOP so far Hamilton took out Lori bender
to win the tournament and now is being presented with her bracelet Four other
tournaments are in progress including the recently started H.O.R.S.E event Two
