they do not enforce that rule That is part of the reason why Greg Sessler won a
ladies event this weekend in Stateline Nevada The other reason according to
Sessler was that the ladies tournament was the only one that fit into the blind
structure he was looking for in his one day at the casino Sessler entered the
ladies event along with three other men Me playing in this tournament really had
nothing to do with trying to take advantage of the ladies or thinking it was a
softer field said Sessler ___I came here because I only had one day and I really
like the structures and the payout This was the only tournament I could play The
event was a circuit tournament that is connected with the World Series of Poker
Sessler won $9,932 for his win and he was the only one of the four men to enter
the tournament that placed in the money The WSOP issued a statement where they
defended Sessler’s right to play in the tournament They did however stress in
the statement that they would prefer that all poker players respect what the
WSOP is trying to do with these ladies tournaments While the WSOP makes a
sincere effort to promote women in poker and offers quasi-exclusive tournaments
designed to increase female participation in the game said the WSOP in a press
release officials generally do not turn away those who want to play in the event
